MOM Review [Photo Studio Tent Kit from YesComUSA]

I've been blogging for about two years now and over the years I've learned photography can really make or break a post. I still have a lot to learn about taking pictures but I now have a tool to help!

I saw this photography tent at YesComUSA  and knew it would be just what I needed to get my blog photos to the next level. 

Once I opened it I knew it was perfect for me and my blog. It's just the right size for the crafts & food I make.

I've been working on a few posts (coming soon) and I can really tell the difference in the pictures.

MOM Review [Cotton Candy Machine]

I love to host. Its something we do all of the time, whether its just a few friends or our whole family. I came across The LA Shop, they sell all kinds of items online. Everything from gardening, photography, kitchen goodies to trade show equipment. One of their kitchen goodies caught my eye, A Cotton Candy Machine!

I just had to try this out!

Make it Monday [Apple & Sweet Potato Puree]

 I've recently posted two reviews on products I use because I'm a mom. So today's Make it Monday Recipe is going to be for "baby" food.

The twins are well beyond baby food but from time to time I find it quick and easy to hand them Little Green Pouches that I've filled with veggies and/or fruits. It certainly helps me keep my hands free and the kids busy....

This MOM Review has been in my head since I received the whole system as a christmas present in 2011, when my twins were just about to start "solid" foods.

I made all of their baby food and can say that my twins have never had jarred food.

MOM Review [Little Green Pouch]

I'm doing this review on my own, I purchased these pouches after I saw a pin on pinterest and followed up with the creators of these amazing pouches.

Around the twins first birthday I started buying pouches of fruit and veggies for the kids. I love them. I don't love the cost. Nope, Nope, Nope. I made all of the twins "baby" food and never purchased jarred food so starting to shell out about a buck a pouch was just shocking for me.

I was browsing along on pinterest [normal night activity for me] and I saw a pin for a re-useable food pouch...  the company is  Little Green Pouch check them out!

I was sold. Dishwasher safe, Freezer Safe... Its exactly what I'd been looking for and from what the company webpage said they were looking to start selling their pouches in Oct. I bought them the first week they went up for sale.

[Halloween Costumes]

Halloween was so much fun when I was a kid so naturally with the twins walking and talking (kind of) we're dressing them up this year! Last year they were a little to young to care and I think they still are but oh well, it will be fun for Joe and I.

I naturally want them to coordinate and most boy/girl costumes are couples... (mickey & minnie, donald & daisy, etc.... ) and it would be odd to dress them up that way... but then I remembered their baby shower... Thing 1, Thing 2! Perfect!

I went browsing online only to find this age is hard to buy costumes for.. so I'll just make them!!! (not entirely)

I can knit a little so after a few beanie (much too big..) attempts I came up with a simple pattern, on straight needles [I haven't learned how to use circular needles yet]

Knit:

Cast on 35 stitches (Ends up about 16")
*Knit a row then
Purl a row*

Repeat until the beanie is about 4.5" (toddler beanie)

then
[Row 1] k4, k2tog*repeat
[Rows: 2, 4, 6 & 8 Purl]
[Row 3] k3, k2tog*repeat
[Row 5] k2, k2tog* repeat
[Row 7] k1, k2tog*repeat

Then I sewed the ends together to make a beanie!

I then ordered some plain Red Fleece PJs from here

They just needed a Thing One Thing Two sign.... so I bought some felt and used a black paint pen and made the signs....

MOM Review [Step 2 My Clubhouse]

For the twins 1st Birthday we wanted to buy them something that they both could play with for a long time. After doing some research I came across the Step 2 My Clubhouse, it seemed like the perfect gift for twins to share! And its pretty unisex which totally works for my boy/girl twins!

I purchased it from Toys R Us for $179.99 but I had a 20% off coupon so it was about $150ish after tax. The box was pretty heavy (60lbs or so) but my husband was able to load it up in the truck and off we went!

I didn't take pictures of me assembling it because at the time I didn't think about it. But I can honestly say that I assembled it with out any power tools (although it would have been faster) and was done in about an hour. The instructions were really easy to understand and used pictures to make it even EASIER! The holes aren't predrilled (which is why an electric tool would have been faster) but the plastic is soft enough to make the holes yourself. (Like I said I did this, just your average mama!)

Overall the Step 2 My Clubhouse, is great and we bought it for my 1yr old twins (the manufacture age is 2 and up) since they are pretty tall and walk well its great for them too. The one item I'd change about this clubhouse is the fabric roof, I love the idea of a fabric roof BUT if we are going to keep it outside (its currently inside) I'd prefer a roof that was removable so I could wash it! They have you screw the fabric into the plastic at the top. Since I was not a fan of this I did not do this step. I will be purchasing some velcro and making this a removable roof. I will post and update after I do this... sewing machine is required... so it will take some time :)

We had a few kids at their party and this clubhouse was a hit! The kids like opening the many doors and crawling through the short opening at the back. I like it because I can see the kids playing in it from almost all angles so I know they are playing nice.. which is important when you have two!

I'd recommend this to any mom and especially a MOM (Mom of Multiples)!
