Quick Craft [Firecracker Decor]

I've been buying crafting goodies from Pick Your Plum for only a couple of months now but I have to say I'm hooked! They have the cutest stuff at really great prices. No I'm not paid to say that; I just really like them... anyway I saw this Firecracker set from them about a month ago and knew I could make something cute with it. At the time I didn't have an exact plan, then two weeks ago they had patriotic Washi Tape and it all came together!

I just love the way this came out, here's how I did it...

DIY Tuesday [Patriotic Firework Garland]

The Forth of July is right around the corner so I thought I'd make a festive garland to add to my mantel. It seems like forever since I updated my mantel but I'll have a Patriotic one to share soon!

This Patriotic  Firework Garland is easy to make and can be used a few times a year; sweet!

DIY Tuesday [Mickey & Minnie Mouse Painted Shirts]

We got a chance to go to Disneyland yesterday with some friends [for free], we were so excited and extremely thankful.  So, I decided to make all of the kids shirts as a way to thank to our friends  and their family for getting us in. We had a total of 4 kids, two boys and two girls. Naturally I chose to make Mickey & Minnie Mouse Shirts!

I hand painted all of these shirts and they were pretty easy to do.

DIY Tuesday [Washi Tape Frame]

After seeing tons [and I mean TONS] of Washi Tape projects on other blogs & pinterest, I bought some! I bought 4 rolls from Pick Your Plum when they were only $1.50 a roll, score! I had an unfinished wood frame from Michaels [only $1] and here it is... my first Washi Tape project.

DIY Tuesday [Knitted Easter Eggs]

I've been having so much fun making these knitted Easter eggs I thought I'd share them with you. They are pretty easy and fast to make while you are sitting. I've found time during my Monday night girl get together, where we sit and chat for an hour or two. To my suprise I've also had time to knit these while watching the kids play, I thought for sure they'd be mad or play with the yarn but they don't care. I love when I can multitask!

Quick Craft [Twine Ombre Easter Eggs]

I saw these super cute twine easter eggs the other day and I knew I wanted to do something like this for my Easter/Spring Mantel. They looked cute alone but I want color on the mantel [its so white on its own] so I made these eggs Ombre!


They came out just how I pictured.... Love it when that happens.

They were really simple to make.

DIY Tuesday [Patterned Easter Eggs]

Easter is coming early this year and we are having a easter egg hunt for our little ones! I'm so excited. I started thinking about the type of eggs we will have and I thought I'd try out something a little different. Not only did it work but the eggs have a really great pattern, I'm in love with these... I almost don't want to eat them.

Around the House [St. Patricks Day Mantel]

There's a lot to this mantel for me, at least more than it seems by just looking at it. Things have been kind of sad in the past month. First it was my grandma going to the hospital and before we really knew what was happening, she passed away. 

So I wanted this mantel to have some cheer to remind me of happy days and for me thats sunshine after a rain... which means Rainbows.

DIY Tuesday [Rainbow Canvas Art]

I should have my mantel completed by tomorrow, the flowers I'm going to use have been difficult to get my hands on... Anyway the main focal point of my mantel is my homemade Rainbow Canvas Art and I just LOVE the way it turned out.

Its just the right amount of cheer that I need to remind me to smile these days.

DIY Tuesday [Lucky Clover Field]

The inspiration behind today's project was a simple Clover Field. The thought of sun shine & rainbows along a clover field makes me smile. I'm almost finished with my St. Patricks Day Mantel and this fits perfectly with it.

Quick Craft [St. Patricks Day Headband]

With Valentines Day over I'm moving on the the next holidays...St. Patricks Day and Easter! I'm thinking ahead to what the twins will wear just so I can take pictures... its fun even though they don't always cooperate.

This headband was super easy to make and the clover is removable so you can put it on a headband for adults too!

DIY Tuesday [Sesame Street Light Post]

Even though the twins bday party was almost two year ago [wow] I still get asked about the Sesame Street Light Post my husband built. Today [with his help] I'd like to share with you how he made it. It's a DIY project that he made up as he went and the light post came out wonderfully. Here's how he did it.

Quick Craft [Valentine's Day Onesies]

Happy Valentines Day!!!

So I may or may not have woken up early this morning due to a wild hair... I literally whipped up these onesies in less than an hour. They are really easy. First I went through the twins white onesies that were in the "they don't wear" pile. I mean if I'm going to make shirts they will only wear once I might as well use onesies they almost can't even fit into any more, right?

Today I'd like to share with you the baby shower I had for my twins. The theme was Thing 1/ Thing 2, perfect for twins. We had so much fun planning this party and even more fun there!

Everything from the invitations, to the food & even a game were Dr. Seuss themed.

I love photo-booths, they seriously make parties fun! I've painted two backdrops for photobooths and I thought today I'd share how I made them and tips I've learned from it.

The first photobooth was for my twins' first birthday, it is still my most visited post. I guess everyone LOVES Sesame street.

Party [Super Bowl 47]

Football always has and will always be big in our house. We both love to watch a good game, even if our teams don't make it to the end. This year we decided to host the big game and naturally I went into party planning mode, driving my husband crazy. :)

DIY Tuesday [Miss you Mugs]

One of my best (and oldest) friends moved to Australia 5 years ago this Valentine's Day. I've been lucky enough to see her through some major life events (our weddings & the birth of the twins) despite the geographical difference, thanks to her ability to fly home about once a year. I think about her often and miss her like crazy and I know she's probably not moving back to the states, ever. So I wanted to make us something we could use every day and think about each other. We share a love of coffee so naturally this was the perfect project! 

Around the House [Valentines Day Mantel]

Its February 1st which means Happy Month of Love! As you know I've been working on my Mantel for a couple of weeks now and I'm excited to say its finished and I'm ready to show it to you.

I've been doing lots of little crafts to help give our mantel a personal, loving and family feel.

Each of these items means something to us as a family. Its even got a photo from the day that started this family, our wedding... front and center.

Freebie [The Big Game Printables]

"The Big Game" is this Sunday!!! In our house we LOVE football and can't wait to watch the game, even though neither of our teams made it. This year we are hosting the party for some family and friends.
