Make it Monday [Little Blue Candy Chips]

Little Blue Candy ChipsGood Morning and Happy Monday! Today I'm sharing with you how to make Little Blue Candy Chips with Wilton's Candy Melts. I've been planing a baby shower for my friend and I wanted to match most of the colors to the Tiffany Blue. With some of the decoration its almost impossible but with the candy melts I knew I could achieve the right color.
Here's the formula I came up with:

MOM Review [Cotton Candy Machine]

I love to host. Its something we do all of the time, whether its just a few friends or our whole family. I came across The LA Shop, they sell all kinds of items online. Everything from gardening, photography, kitchen goodies to trade show equipment. One of their kitchen goodies caught my eye, A Cotton Candy Machine!

I just had to try this out!

Party [Super Mario Brothers 30th Birthday]

I helped a friend throw her boyfriend a surprise 30th birthday party. He's a fan of the classic video games, he even has 2 NES consoles!

So naturally she picked the original Super Mario Brothers for a theme.

It was a lot of work but a lot of fun.... and now All About the Details:

DIY Tuesday [Photo-booth]

I love photo-booths, they seriously make parties fun! I've painted two backdrops for photobooths and I thought today I'd share how I made them and tips I've learned from it.
The first photobooth was for my twins' first birthday, it is still my most visited post. I guess everyone LOVES Sesame street.

What you'll need...

Mardi Gras Party [6 Recipes & Free Printable]

Mardi Gras [or Fat Tuesday] is tomorrow! To honor of this fun celebration I'd thought I'd share with you some recipes and a free printable. Fat Tuesday refers to the practice of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season; which begins on Ash Wednesday....And with any holiday there's always the fun of drinking [if thats your thing].

Party [Super Bowl 47]

Football always has and will always be big in our house. We both love to watch a good game, even if our teams don't make it to the end. This year we decided to host the big game and naturally I went into party planning mode, driving my husband crazy. :)

Party [Fantasy Football Draft]

Saturday was our Fantasy Football Draft Party...

Its a 12 team league that I'm Co-Commissioner of...... naturally I volunteered to host the party. I immediately started thinking of the layout for the munchies table.

Sorry about the photo quality, I didn't realize how dark this room was until we started taking pictures! (Anyone know a photographer that wants to shoot my work?)

Football Draft Party
I used astroturf that I bought from a home improvement store, the goal posts were made from pvc pipes!! I love how it turned out!

The food:
Chips & Dip
Spinach & Artichoke Dip
Strawberry Cupcakes
Muddy Buddies
Muddy Buddies-Cake Batter Edition (hug hit)
Pigs N Blankets
Meat, Cheeses and Crackers

Close Up of the Field
Stadium Cupcake Stand

Pigs N Blankets

Everyone had a great time and I'm for sure going to use this table cover and goal posts again!!!

DIY Tuesday [Stadium Cupcake Stand]

I'm a Co-Commissioner in a 12 team Fantasy Football League and this past weekend was our Live Draft... Well we just had to have some football decor!!!

That post will follow soon..

Anyway I had envisioned this football field with cupcakes "watching" the game... So I started looking through my craft room to see what I could do about a Stadium Cupcake Stand...

Here's what I came up with~

Gather Materials

Materials I used:
Styrofoam these were 14"x15" (was in an order from Amazon that I kept for crafting reasons!)
Tape Measure
Pen
Knife (actually used a saw but you can use a kitchen knife)
Paint (not pictured here)

Measure where you need to cut

First step is to figure out how many cupcakes you will have and how big of a stand you'll need. I was going to have 12 cupcakes and each was about 3" and I wanted my stand to be two tiers (3 would have been best but too large for this small of a party).

The top tier was going to have 5 cupcakes and 7 on the bottom.

Top Tier Calculations: 5x3= 15"long by 3.5" deep (I added the .5" for more space)

Bottom Tier: 7x3= 21" but since my styrofoam was 14" and I was going to use two side by side I didn't see the need to cut them down from 28"... So I just used 28'long and 3.5" + 3.5"(top tier)= 7" deep

After you figure out your dimensions... Mark your styrofoam

I just used a pen to mark where I needed to cut

Thought a saw would be better than one of my kitchen knives

Next Cut Cut Cut Cut... I used a Saw from my Hubbys Tool Box.... Much better than a kitchen knife but you could totally use one of those too!

 messy job

All stacked up

I stacked the styrofoam to make sure its what I envisioned.... and it was ... just needed color
Left over Craft Smart Paint from the twins party

I would have used spray paint but I didn't want to run out buy some and I found these... so this cupcake stand didn't cost me any $$$$ (well any new $$$)

Here's the finished cupcake stand!

Dont mind my messy garage

Done!!! I'm posting Draft Party pictures soon and you'll see the cupcake stand in action! :)

Party [Father's Day Mustache Bash]

This Father's Day was my darling husband's first.  It only happens once... So we hosted a brunch for family.

My goal: Create a theme that was appropriate for dads... then I got to thinking... My dad has a mustache, Joe's dad has a mustache, Joe's brother (who's a dad) has a mustache/beard... and Joe hadn't shaved in a while so he had a mustache... put that together with some ideas I've seen on Pinterest.. and BOOM
MUSTACHE BASH for
Father's Day

I'm a relatively new pinner... but I love to browse and I've seen tons of things that have inspired me. I will do my best to give credit where credit is due and I apologize if its not the original creator... but I think I've gotten it all correct

All of the graphic's I made myself... the theme was inspired by the following: KPI, & APTG

The Party Spread

Just the banner

Detailed view of banner... I used scrapbook paper for the background and my design on top. I loved the woodgrain paper! Totally manly!

The gifts: 3. 2. 1. cake inspired by TMB.. I made a sample first and fell in LOVE!! This is a very awesome gift idea. Especially for those with a sweet tooth! I printed the instructions on the back of these handmade ties.

Cinnamon Cookies, purchased.. honestly because they matched my color scheme... :)
They were yummy too!
And the cupcakes! The recipe can be found here VG. After baking a test cupcake with frosting...
My husband decided we should add  cayenne to the frosting for that extra
some... I have to say it was a very tasty addition!

Cupcake stand was made by me (by hand) thanks to a wonderful tutorial from: AE

Mustache Straws!!! Great detail inspired by WBS

These were the thank you's, mustache shaped coco rice krispie treats. I made a normal batch of treats
then carved out each mustache. Wrapped them up in a ziploc baggie and glued a label that said
 "Have a Fan-stache-tic Father's Day"
They were a hit

And last but not least mustache props... these I've seen all over the internet so its honestly hard to pin point one person to credit... so I think I'll just credit google.. :)
