DIY Tuesday [Burp Cloths]

DIY Burp ClothsOur group of friends have caught baby fever and I've been making all kinds of goodies for little babies all summer.

And these adorable burp cloths are a hit!

I learned with my twins that the only burp cloths that work are cloth diapers, everything else was too thin and left my shoulders covered in spit up [times two!!].

These are simple to make; just add fabric in your favorite patterns to the middle...

Here's how I did it:

DIY Tuesday [Knitted Flower & Bow Accessories]

DIY Knitted Flower & Bow Accessories
[a day late, but still fun!]
Last week I shared with you the Scarf I made for my two year old, since then I've been making different colored bows and flowers to accessorize her scarf.

I mean doesn't every little girl need matching accessories?

Both are quick patterns to make.

DIY Tuesday [ Knitted Toddler Scarf ]

Its that time of year; pumpkin flavored everything is out and the weather is starting to get that amazing crisp chill to it.

Well, ok maybe not a chill... I do live in southern CA but it is starting to cool off.

I'm in my winter time knitting mode and I'm having so much fun with it!

My little girl loves being a princess and playing dress up, so I've made her this cute scarf that we can accessorize to match her outfit. I just love having a little girl.

Here's how to make it.

DIY Tuesday [Knitted Baby Blanket]

As you've seen from my many posts about the Little Blue Baby Shower; my dear friend is having a baby boy in August. I'm so excited for them! My little ones received many loving gifts at their baby shower and to this day they still sleep with baby blankets their great Aunt made for them. I knew right away I wanted to make a baby blanket for the new little one.

The mom-to-be told me about their plans for a soccer themed nursery and I set out to find the perfect pattern. I came across this pattern from Red Heart for a Honeycomb Throw. It was perfect, I had to change the colors but the pattern itself was spot on. Doesn't it look like a soccer net blanket?

I followed the pattern but only used two colors.

DIY Tuesday [Little Blue Favor Box]

Little Blue Favor BoxNext week is a Baby Shower for one of my best friends and I'm so excited to see how the party comes together!

A couple of friends and I are doing the whole party DIY style... so much fun. We decided that we'd give delicious chocolate chip cookies [homemade] out as favors. Now that requires a special [and custom] package.

I decided we'd make these Little Blue Favor Boxes as our vessel. They are big enough for a few cookies and easy enough to grab as a small thank you.

Here's how you make them:

DIY Tuesday [PJ Pants to PJ Shorts]

PJ Redo: Pants to Shorts
With the summer around the corner, the heat here in Southern California has been creeping up... sometimes its in the 90s and its only spring!!!

Time to put the kids in some summer time pjs. I try to save money wherever I can, so I thought why buy new pjs just to get shorts?

In less than 10 minutes I gave a pair of pj pants a makeover and now they are pj shorts.

Super Easy! Here's how I did it:

DIY Tuesday [Mickey & Minnie Mouse Painted Shirts]

Mickey & Minnie Painted ShirtsWe got a chance to go to Disneyland yesterday with some friends [for free], we were so excited and extremely thankful.  So, I decided to make all of the kids shirts as a way to thank to our friends  and their family for getting us in. We had a total of 4 kids, two boys and two girls. Naturally I chose to make Mickey & Minnie Mouse Shirts!

I hand painted all of these shirts and they were pretty easy to do.

DIY Tuesday [Knitted Easter Eggs]

I've been having so much fun making these knitted Easter eggs I thought I'd share them with you. They are pretty easy and fast to make while you are sitting. I've found time during my Monday night girl get together, where we sit and chat for an hour or two. To my suprise I've also had time to knit these while watching the kids play, I thought for sure they'd be mad or play with the yarn but they don't care. I love when I can multitask!

Here's what you need and the pattern

DIY Tuesday [Rainbow Canvas Art]

DIY Rainbow Canvas Art
I should have my mantel completed by tomorrow, the flowers I'm going to use have been difficult to get my hands on... Anyway the main focal point of my mantel is my homemade Rainbow Canvas Art and I just LOVE the way it turned out.

Its just the right amount of cheer that I need to remind me to smile these days.

DIY Tuesday [Lucky Clover Field]

The inspiration behind today's project was a simple Clover Field. The thought of sun shine & rainbows along a clover field makes me smile. I'm almost finished with my St. Patricks Day Mantel and this fits perfectly with it.

You'll only need a few things...
